Foreign Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, while at the University College Dublin in Ireland, spoke on the lasting and ongoing challenges of global terrorism, describing it as one issue "which we must confront with ever-increasing urgency."

At the University, the Minister was asked to deliver a lecture on the theme "India's view of the world" and provided an overview of India's diplomatic position on various international issues.

He stated that conflicts today pose serious concerns for the world. He indicated political and social upheavals-cross border.

However, Jaishankar made it clear that India thinks differences and disputes ought to be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than through violence or force. He said this principle lies at the foundation of India's foreign policy.

The minister laid particular emphasis on the scourge of terrorism, which poses an increasing threat worldwide. Here, India has suffered the scourge of terrorism and is, therefore, advocating a strong global response against terrorism. This will include the fight against terrorism manifested through cooperation among nations aimed at guaranteeing the safety and security of all.

The importance of Jaishankar's talk at University College Dublin is underscored by the present rise in global tensions and terrorism. It further indicates India's increasing role in diplomacy-especially international peace, stability, and cooperation in addressing urgent global issues in a joined manner. This message was well taken by students, faculty, and members of the Indian diaspora attending the address, as it reiterated India's commitment to peace and security.
